Confirmation literally means, ”To Make Firm.” We will be building on all that you have learned and we have shared in faith so far as we understand and celebrate the faith many of you already claim.
8th Grade Confirmation is the perfect opportunity to explore and publicly profess faith. Certainly, in The United Methodist Church, we believe that anyone can answer the invitation to Christian discipleship, profess faith in Jesus Christ, and become a member of a congregation, without necessarily participating in prescribed classes. But, we have learned that participating with other young people in Confirmation; enjoying learning experiences together; meeting with the pastors and other Church leaders; and taking part in retreats, and mission outreach allow young people to explore more fully the faith they seek to profess. Confirmation is for students connected with the Isle of Hope congregation, who seek to explore and claim their Wesleyan faith and become a full member of this congregation.
