United Methodist Churches have historically worked to assure that children in the community are cared for with food, clothing, education, and an affirmation of value and self-worth. In many communities, The United Methodist Church was the founding force to provide kindergarten for the children of the area, daycare centers for children of working parents, and Sunday Schools where the children heard about God’s love and presence in their daily lives. Today, these traditions continue and provide a solid foundation from which we can address the need for prevention of all forms of child abuse.
Because over 3 million incidents of abuse are reported each year, it is the firm commitment of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church to ensure that every child, youth, and vulnerable adult is safe under the shadow of the steeple.
